re analysing logs:
there are several programs - WebTrends is the biggie, but pricey
(unless you can generate all your results in the 14 day trial period)
also has a very US bias: happily details which staate accessed, but
not which part of europe....
I found a very quick way to generate rough stats was to import the
entire log file into Excel (as a SPACE delimeted text file) and use
the Data > Filter > AutoFilter function. easy to see the individual
page hits, cumulative numbers for directories, error / return codes
(200 / 404 etc)
works well with the NCSA format log you have shown, and with the
extended log format.
There is a list of counting / stats services on the main archive
sites (eg TUCOWS) for windows & there are several really good ones
for unix machines. [can't remember the URL's]
