The last bit is the tricky bit. Without access to the server it may be
difficult to find a provider which will let you run a program on their
site. However, if you do have server access, I wrote a program (currently
windows gui) which converts the standard NT format log:
194.112.34.156, -, 01/11/96, 17:05:52, W3SVC, BEAUNE, 195.40.36.2, 0, 238,
29, 200, 0, GET, /qsl1.gif, -,
into html. See http://www.quartet.co.uk/nov.htm for a sample. I need to
just make it a command line tool which the NT "at" command scheduler can
run every hour.
It logs how many html files (ie page hits) a single address has accessed,
adds their domain name to the ip address in the original log file, adds the
number of downloads made. So if you access our site say weekly, there is
one line in the final output for your ip address listing the number of hits
and dl's.
If there is interest in developing the tool I will finish it off and make
it available. Suggestions for other facilities are welcome.
