I delivered a little boy at home 4 years ago actually on Christmas
day. I have had this fantasy of the mother looking into my eyes and
saying, "Doctor, I must call my son after your christian name" in honour
of the occasion.
Well, I thought my luck was in. It was Christmas day, home delivery,
everything went tickety boo ( apart from the Paramedic, who when I asked
to draw up my syntometrine to give for control of the 3rd stage, managed
to crush the whole vial in his hand. OK so we had more post partum
bleeding than expected, but whats a litre of blood amongst friends,
until the midwife arrived)
Anyway, as my first name happens to be Nicholas, what more appropriate I
thought.
As nothing was forthcoming, I mentioned as a throw away comment,
....Christmas day,.....my Christain name is the same as the man in a red
coat.......Woudlnt it be nice ........etc
"I didnt know your first name was Claus Doctor"
Kicked the cat etc.
They actually choose Duane as the name ( What was wrong with Claus
anyway)
