This is a good example of specifications for computer systems being used
as a back door way to change the GP contract.
The fact that this field should not be mandatory was pointed out when
suppliers first saw the specification but we were told ours was not to
reason why.
If the specifcation is changed no doubt it will come with a cheque to
pay for all the upgrades.
It would really help if these issues were address between GMSC and NHS E
DoH at an early stage.
