The Centre for Health Studies at Durham University, the National
Association of Health Workers with Travellers (NAHWT) and the National
Gypsy Council for Education, Culture and Welfare are undertaking a survey
of travellers health status in the UK. We would like health professionals
with an interest in health care for travellers to contact us. Please

The NAHWT has a steadily growing membership. The Association , in
recognising Traveller Gypsies as a minority etnic group, seeks to promote
and improve their health, as well as supporting health workers and
providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge, information and
resources. Membership is open to anyone interested in the issues of health
care and Traveller gypsies, although full membership is limited to direct
providers of health care. Membership fee is 10 ukp per annum. For further
