John:
I am bound to upset few people with this reply, but the time has
come (The Warlos said...)...

It is precisely that philosophy that gets up my nose. Worse, no
one seems to be listening. That leads me to conclude that the power
suits don't care. What with captive audience, price fixing
cartels, careers to be made and empires to be built, it is hardly
surprising.
What is particularly upsetting is that some of our colleagues are
actually 'colluding' with all that. I want no further part in it.
Today I resign my LURG membership.
Almost all of my communications needs (as they relate to my
Practice) are with a couple of trusts, one HA and a handful of
local GPs. Why the heartache then when all this can be achieved
more efficiently and cheaply to the power n?
Time for action my friends. Instead of banging fists on tables, let
us take a message that is 30,000 GP strong and deliver it where it
matters. A message that says: "so long and thanks for all the
fish".
Fine John, it is a big ocean, let them go their way, we will go
ours.
