Medical information displayed on the Web loses a lot of the contextual
clues normally associated with conventional media. It is usually possible
with magazine, journal, TV or radio to work out things like who's it for,
where's it from, who's written it, and when was it produced ? A lot of that
context is lost on the Web, but using a standardised pallette of icons to
"mark up" medical Web publications it may be one way to replace some of the
lost flavour.
OK, it's home grown, but I wrote it up as a discussion paper in the
Reference and Articles area at MedWeb UK and I would really appreciate your
thoughts.
Yours Paul
