Sorry, I've just spotted another problem - the right hand side of the
prescription.
This is normally used (in repeat prescriptions) as a repeat prescription
order form - usually with information about how many more repeats may be
ordered without seeing the doctor - or a review date.
If this area is used by a bar code - and ? retained by the pharmacist? -
, how is the patient to place the repeat request , except by phone? We
discourage this - takes a lot of time, and runs the real risk of
mistakes being made.
Will the bar code be generated by the software, and include pack size?
Suppose you have a depressed patient with a propensity for taking all
their antidepressants at the same time - so you and the patient have
agreed that, until they feel better, you'll give them a weeks supply at
a time for the time being. Will the software handle this? - especially
as, hopefully, the situation will change very soon!
Sorry, I remain unconvinced...
