A nice thread!
Leonard Peter:
>> Am I the only one out there who finds the use of healers by registered

The Paul Miller:
>Nope, but then again is it not just good quality placebo
>cf. homeopathy, aromatherapy, prescribing.
>
>If it works, why chuck it out ?
The problem is, when it gets in the way of effective treatment it may get
dangerous...
I've rather use my own placebos... We have so many! As for the communication
skills, it's our fault if we don't put them to use.
Then Jon Wilcox:
>Should patients be referred to alternative practitioners for
>"placebo" treatment? Absolutely, just as going to church on Sunday may
>be good for their spirit.
>But not on the NHS. Alternative therapies are _not_ a Core Service.
>I presume you can get NHS to pay for these "treatments" in the UK??
I hear HM the Queen has an appointed homeopath, ostheopath or something of
the sort. Is this true? Because if it is so, there is something seriously
wrong around...
It's sad Petr Skrabanek died. We could use him much longer.
