You might be shocked. Presumably VAMP's echoing makes use of the fact
that you run the system on the main surgery computer and just use
something like PCAnywhere or Laplink to "take control" of the surgery
computer.
A 2Mb link is fine if you're careful about the networking you use, but
if the VAMP system assumes that it is on a network (which are 10Mb or
100Mb) then using it as a wide-area network link could give sluggish
performance.
It all depends on how the application is written. I wouldn't load any
programs over a 2Mb link; but it should be ok for sharing data, and
store the applications locally.

I'm obviously very biased here, as I work for a company that provides
OOH co-op software. However, it's fair to say that our system
(Adastra) has the biggest market share and is the most flexible OOH
system available.
