It is a very thought provoking article. However, for a review of the
calibre that we expect from Richard Smith, it is a pity he did not spend
some effort looking for unpublished work done on primary care data needs
in the UK. There are several systems already available that are trying
to give GPs the sort of data that they want, in a way that they can use.
I hope his article will provoke the publication of research relevant to
the majority of users of this List.
