I attended a Vamp User Group software panel meeting with Vamp today,
when the very same issues were discussed - they are fully aware of this!
Incidentally, I have it on good authority that Vamp now (with their new
acquisition) have around 30% of market share of all GP systems. What
hasn't been said in all this discussion is how Vamp have worked very
closely with the User Group over the years to try to ensure the best
software for all users of the system. I was part of the original
brainstorming weekend a number of years ago when Vision was first
conceived - has any other company taken the trouble to really find out
what their users want?
I send these comments because there still seems to be a very strong
anti-Vamp camp out there in Medical Infomatics land. I am happy with the
system we currently have, which does what we need now, while accepting
there is room for improvement. I would very much like to go for Vision,
but we cannot afford it at present (most users are fundholders burning
yet more of their ill gotten gains!).
Any other opinions?
