Paul Caldwell asks:
>Does anyone really believe in 'Scarlatina'? If so, how do you diagnose it?
I can remember having Scarlatina when I was 11, (many years ago!)
I had a terrible sore throat and a vague rash on my hands.
I felt absolutely dreadful, but had a hard time convincing my parents that I
was too ill to go to school.
A few days later, my hands and feet started peeling, which alarmed my parents,
who dragged me off to the doc.
He diagnosed "Scarlet Fever" and made my parents feel really guilty. But in
retrospect I think it was Scarlatina.
>From this personal experience, I have quite a high index of suspiscion, but
still only reckon to see a case every 2 yrs or so.
