Having known Ewan for almost 10 years (oh my god!) and worked for him
for 6 1/2 of those, I would like to spring to his defence and say that
Ewan would not (and is probably incapable of) deliberately offending
anyone.
I also think the contributors to GP-UK should be grateful that the MD
of one of the top 3 GP systems suppliers in the UK regularly sticks
his head above the parapets in this forum. There are few people with
such a comprehensive knowledge of the entirety of primary care in the
UK.
We are, of course, entitled to disagree with what he or anyone else
says, but I don't think it should get this angry. We are all entitled
(hopefully) to our own opinions. Free speech and all that!?
On the particular point which started this thread, I'm with Ewan on
this one. There is nothing more frustrating (from a supplier's point
of view) than a customer threatening to go public in an attempt to
blackmail the supplier into action, especially when action is already
being taken. I'm not saying this is what happened in ths particular
case, but I make the point generally. Several times in the past, I
have been confronted with "I'm going to write to 'the comics' about
your company" to which I believe the response should be "OK, do that,
but please be aware we are doing our best to resolve your problems". I
believe most people are able to recognise Mr or Mrs Angry in print
when they see them.
