A retired (through ill health) GP met an ophthalmologist in the USA who told
him of a complex VR system that magnified things and presented the central
visual field as a peripheral image (I think). Very expensive.
It was in one of the GP comics (Pulse/Doctor/GP), they should be monitoring
this and should have the courtesy to send you details.
