I am still struggling to find a good use for the system with
contraception. Since we got the computer 6 years ago all the doctors
have dutifully filled in the contraception entry on the PD screen. As
you know, this gives you the option of entering a history item (e.g.
IUCD) or a drug name (e.g. Novoguard) and more often than not we have
done the latter. When you search the records there isn't, as far as I
can see, any way of searching on the drug names. Hence we can't
reliably identify who has a coil fitted.
