Hi all
Our local lab gives us an excellent service whether fundholding or
commissioning. There have been a few changes over the years; mainly for the
better.
1 year ago the lab forms changed from 6 different ones to one single form with
several sheets, some with integral carbon. That saved a lot of desk space and
was really well designed. Someone had spent a long time over it.
There has now been a change from straightforward syringe needle combination to a
vacuum setup. OK so far but I've not had to use them on a wee lady with
Blancmange for vein walls yet.
BUT THEY'VE GONE TOO FAR! The colours of the tubes have changed.
I've been using pink tubes for Haemoglobin for 35 years (Oh Lord did I really
write that number?)
They are now the colour of ESR Tubes and I'm really confused.
It's strange that the technology can change quite markedly with no great upset
but a simple change in colour has put my bloodletting in a tizz.
Tom
