On the assumption that an autumn invasion of horrible big black/brown
spiders that suddenly scuttle across the living room carpet, or get in the
bath, indicate a severe winter & a severe winter leads to extra demands on
the NHS, who is going to draft the research proposal to prove it, eg.
'An investigation of the correlation between Arachnid infestation of
domestic properties, prevailing & predicted meterological conditions and
seasonal variation in NHS workload.'
