Yes, but you've missed a few high risk groups...
1. The police in their close communities for whom winter absenteeism
stretches the thin blue line and threatens the fabric of society
2. All our fine Servicemen who live cooped up in barracks just waiting for
an outbreak of meningitis or 'flu' with risks to national security (perhaps
just the most important senior officers?)
3. Social workers, government departments, prison officers, prisoners (I am
starting to wonder how we ever survived winter last year ?)
4. Our PHCT without whom patients would lie a moldering in their beds, and
reception staff (because Jill was off for 2 weeks last year with the 'flu'
and it played havoc with the winter rush to get 'flu jabs'. )
5. Oh and ...everyone else, because lets face it we're all pretty essential
and "I don't know if you can afford a week off work mate but I know I
can't, I'm self employed".
Oh and by the way, where is the reimbursement (or let's not be shy about it
....) payment for this extra work ?
Oh and by the way pneumococcal vaccine is indicated to the same high risk
groups , can't your practice nurses give it at the same time, it can't take
that long !
Er...no payment for that either, but your patients might suffer if you
don't, and Dr Midgley does it down the road.
*** and lo, he saw the fat end of the wedge and it was not good ****
It's only paranoia if they're not out to get you :-)
