This is a copy of message on FAM-MED an it mentions a EMR package backed by one
if not the largest pharmaceutical company in the World. Has anyone seen it and
should the complacent UK software houses feel threatened? I use the word
complacent as many of us are STILL waiting for so called second generation
software.

Why in the world should this be such a "pipe dream". Most of the
so-called modern EMRs require extensive workarounds for such activities
as was so vividly pointed out with Practice Partners. Must be that they
are developed without real time clinical piloting or something. Truly
useful systems must facilitate activities like lab review and follow-up,
referrals and referral tracking, prevention tracking and recall to name
a few.
We're looking seriously at a package, "HealthPoint", right now. Seems
to contain many of these features. It's new, bankrolled by Glaxo.
Anyone else have experience with this product????
