In my other life I'm a voluntary marriage guidance counsellor (pause till
incredulous hoots die down). One self-refered couple's story is apposite
to this thread. The woman had a primary depression and for five years
had everything fad and farmaceutical the NHS possessed thrown at her.
The husband? Not once seen or indirectly inquired after by the many
psychiatrists, psychologists, CPNs, OTs, etc. So they've now got a
secondary marital problem. Partly iatrogenic? (good word that: raises
the discussion above dreaded culpability).
