John,
several questions :-
1.are you sending personally identifiable patient information?
2.have the confidentiality and security/encryption issues been resolved
to the satisfaction of the profession ( and the Data Protection
Registrar)?
3.how does the firewall work for email?
4.I'm not using it - no use for the NHSnet at the surgery - quite apart
from the security implications - and quite happy with demon at
home.Should I be subscribing at home?
Hate to mention it.. terms and conditions? would it prevent connection
to the WWW exept via the NHSNet? and - er - cost?

PS how reliable *is* email? some of the really experienced users on this
list still seem to have posted to the wrong address in error:this could
be serious if it happened with confidential information.. ;-<
