Many of the contributors to GP-UK (non-GPs and GPs alike) work for
companies that sell products to the primary care sector. This includes
me. Many of the products with which we (such contributors) are
involved would be of benefit to list members. They would, of course,
also be of financial benefit to the contributors!
I would like to see clarification from the list owners of the policy
on posts that have a commercial element. I am aware of the academic
nature of GP-UK but feel that an acceptable way of talking about
products directly related to the content of posts would be desirable
and potentially beneficial to all parties concerned.
At the present time, advice and practice seems sometimes to conflict.
See David Plews' previous posts on this matter and the seemingly
accepted "in-sig" advertising.
