Hi,
we are working with children fMRI data and it happens quite often that children move during scanning. So, we have several cases where the fMRI images are ok (no motion), but the child moved a lot during the anatomical image acquisition that the quality is too bad to be used for segmentation, coregistration etc.
Is there an option to analyse / preprocess fMRI data if no anatomical image is available?
We thought about using the old preprocessing pipeline without segementation / coregistration and normalize the children fMRI to an fMRI template. However, for the children that have good quality anatomical images we use standard preprocessing pipleline and for normalization the children probability map, which is suggested for children data. The problem is now, that there is only an adult fMRI template available. Or does anybody know of a children fMRI template? Moreover, if some of the kids data is normalized onto the children probability map and some onto the adult/kids fMRI template, they are no more comparable. So, I don't see any solution at the moment.
Many thanks for any ideas of people having experience with children fMRI preprocessing!
