D-DAY 80TH
Following on from the success of last year’s Centre of Port and Maritime History event marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic, we are pleased to announce that this year we will be considering the 80th anniversary of Operation Neptune.
Meeting on Saturday 18 May at Merseyside Maritime Museum, a variety of speakers will consider this momentous event, not so much by way of the Normandy landings, but rather the connection between Merseyside and the north-west in realising the success of this operation. This will consider the work done at Bidston Observatory, RAF Burtonwood, and the US Navy, amongst other topics.
Refreshments, including lunch, will be provided through the day, and all for a nominal ticket price of £5.
POSTER ATTACHED FOR REGISTRATION DETAILS.
