RESEARCH & TEACHING – Prague Conference
Technology. Media and Science Call
https://amps-research.com/conference/prague-research-teaching/
Dates: 10 – 12 June, 2025
Place: Prague (+ virtual)
Abstract dues: 10 July, 2024 (Round One) | 30 Nov, 2024 (Round Two)
CALL:
In contemporary academia the boundaries between research and teaching are blurred and complex. Sometimes deliberately. Oftentimes by chance. Other times by need. We live in an age of research- informed teaching, practice-based learning, academic publishing and global collaboration. As a result, we are simultaneously educators, researchers, authors and practitioners. In this context, the understanding of what we do as academics is far from clear. In design, professionals engage in teaching and learning. In our schools, teachers are involved in lifelong learning. In the humanities and sciences, what we teach is often the very thing we research.
Examining this scenario at a conference held in the heart of Europe, the historic city of Prague, we look for global perspectives on the modern academy.
Specifically, this call is for the strand: Applied Science and Technology.
Whether case studies examining the use of technologies in our cities, the application of scientific knowledge to industry, or examinations of best practice teaching using AI, this strand sees these questions as central to the future of academic research and teaching.
It is interested in diverse questions: critiques of the effects of technology on communities and in the arts; the first-hand documentation of technology in the classroom and in the home; examinations of social media applied in the social sciences and in the classroom.
In short, it seeks to share knowledge on issues of teaching and research across disciplines.
