I was just having this same thought and I perhaps naively assumed that
it would have been discussed here. A list search just found this post
and no further discussion, but as it is becoming all the more pressing
I thought I'd bump the thread.
I too would be interested in methods and tools that people are using.
I've set up a very simple spreadsheet using the Google Sheets
Analytics add-on and currently have reports for overall users/new
users,session length, and also referrers/sources.
I guess my question is, in a year's time what am I going to curse
myself for that I didn't think of? I'll definitely be adding reports
for individual pages and a summary of locations (just at country
level). I don't care about page views more generally, and don't have
any events or conversions set up nor capture search terms. Some of the
demographic data is quite interesting, but not sure I'll care too much
if I don't have historic data.
My final thought was, is anyone else using the Google Sheets plugin to
do this and is there any merit in us sharing report configurations?
Thanks,
James
