Dear Dyi
I was not threatening you. I am merely pointing out that there has been an judgement in an employment tribunal about matters that relate directly to Professor Phipps and your hostility and accusations.
The point is not whether male people who identify as trans and lesbian are, or are not, included in The Lesbian Project. The point is that it is inappropriate (in an academic forum) to cast such aspersions (derived from your own political position) about a group you have nothing to do with.
In so doing, you, Professor Phipps and others invite a response from those of us who have put with being told that how we define our sexuality is problematic. Here I am talking about myself. The word 'lesbian' to me excludes male people (however the identify). I am not talking on behalf of The Lesbian Project. I am speaking on behalf of myself.
If you are seriously telling me that there is a problem with the fact that I, as a lesbian, am somehow politically regressive by claiming that there is a *sociological* constituency of people (called lesbians) who have different interests than males who identify as trans and lesbian, then I do not know what to say. My life experiences are different. We are different sociological groups. Just as gay men and lesbians are different sociological groups.
I do not have to defend my position from the prejudice of others and would appreciate it if you stop being so hostile to a different point of view.
Jo
