There is a vacancy for a PhD position in probability (including stochastic analysis, probability theory, and mathematical statistics) in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at University College Dublin (UCD).
This is a 4-year, fully funded PhD position to be filled as soon as possible.
The successful candidate is expected to have a master's degree in mathematics or statistics, and have a very good command of measure theory and probability theory. Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must.
Familiarity with functional analysis, especially locally convex topological vector spaces and theory of partial differential equations is a plus.
The successful candidate is required to spend one semester every year in Beijing to carry out teaching duties such as giving tutorial sessions, as well as helping with assessments and grading exams. For the remainder of the year, they will be based in Dublin.
