We are looking for 2 experienced statisticians, one for the Data Monitoring Committee and another for the Trial Steering Committee for the HOPEFUL randomised controlled trial:
HOPEFUL - Enhancing hope with youth-initiated mentor support to prevent mental ill health and improve social outcomes for young women who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) and living in coastal deprivation
This National Institute for Health and Social Care Research (NIHR)-funded Public Health Research project is jointly led by Dr Clio Berry, Brighton and Sussex Medical School & Dr Daniel Michelson, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London, with involvement from the Brighton and Sussex Clinical Trials Unit
Project start anticipated 1st July 2024, duration 54 months
HOPEFUL aims to explore the feasibility, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness of a hope-focused intervention. The intervention is based on the principles of hope theory and combines strengths-spotting, goal-setting, and creative arts elements. The intervention is designed to be supported using a novel youth-initiated mentor approach. The project will involve working with local and unitary authority and charity partners to identify these young women and involve them in the trial (target N=248). The project has a geographic focus on deprived coastal regions in southern and eastern England. The RCT includes a feasibility/internal pilot phase and a mixed-methods process evaluation.
If you are interested in either of these roles, please contact:
Dr Clio Berry, Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Evaluation and Improvement, [log in to unmask] or
Prof Stephen Bremner, Professor of Medical Statistics, [log in to unmask] for further details.
