The Practice Research Development Group based in the School of Arts and Creative Industries (ACI) at the University of East London (UEL) invites you to our Postgraduate Practice Research Conference 2024.
The conference’s focus is Practice Research (PR) in performing arts, contemporary arts, and any other arts/creative research; however, we would like to stress that even if your research is not directly engaged in PR as a methodology, we are still very interested in hearing from you.
To apply couldn’t be simpler; it’s the same as writing a tweet...
Casual application = Casual conference.
We’re not necessarily after perfectly delivered 10-minute papers. Your presentation should be just that—yours. It should reflect you, your research, and how your research is done.
So perhaps; a short film, a group thought experiment, guided meditations through the astral planes - whatever suits you and best encapsulates your work… but don’t get us wrong, we understand that sometimes that may be a fantastically written and delivered paper. You do you.
We welcome applications from all levels of postgraduate study, from those doing an MA, those doing a PhD, those doing a Prof Doc, and those that have recently finished their studies but don’t want to leave the safe space of the university environment.
We welcome online and in-person contributions; just let us know in your application but do know we’re fans of low-fi not hi-fi.
Timewise, you’ve got 10 minutes to use max.
For now, there is only these three things you need to do:
Submit your applications by email to: [log in to unmask]
Make sure you put in the subject heading: Three Things for the Postgraduate Practice Research Conference
In a few sentences let us know the following:
Who you are – not in an existential manner but more which level of study and where.
The title and a few sentences (not an essay) summarising what you are going to share.
Your format – so presentation/video/online/in person/or just you sharing an idea that has kept you up at night...
Oh, and if you already know that you just want to be there anyways, please register for the conference here:
