You are cordially invited to Quorum's third event of 2024 from 17:30 to 19:30 on Wednesday 6 March, where we will be joined by three representatives from Raze Collective to discuss the important work they do.
Who are Raze Collective?
In their own words: “We are Raze Collective, a charity established to support, develop & nurture LGBTQ+ performance in the UK. Our mission is to increase access to participation in the arts for LGBTQ+ audiences & create life-changing development pathways for LGBTQ+ creatives.
We are called Raze in response to the razing of queer spaces. Between 2006 – 2013 the number of LGBTQ+ venues in London fell by 58% (Campkin & Lowe, 2017). Raze was formed by grassroots activists, creatives & community members to fill the gaps in opportunity & community building created by venue closures.
Raze offers a queer-led programme of artist development, community events & sector support. We deliver high quality culture to the public whilst supporting artists & intersectional queer communities across London. We work with partners and allies across London’s cultural scene including Stanley Arts, Artsadmin, The Yard Theatre and Richmix.
We are a small team of queer artists and producers working together to support underrepresented queer artist’s with risk taking practice, whose work creates a bold new vision of queer futures. In all our work we seek to prioritise access, community and connection in an effort to queer existing modes of theatre production.”
