the Scuola Normale Superiore (Florence, Italy) is seeking expressions of interest in view of the possible activation of two permanent positions at the level of full professor in the Faculty of Political and Social Science. Both have a deadline on February 19th.
One position is for a chair in international relations, with a focus on the study of the social and political implications of economic globalisation, including at least one of the following areas: international political economy, European and/or global social, environmental and economic governance, borders and inequalities, colonial and postcolonial relations, global value chains. Candidates should be able to contribute to the Faculty’s main areas of research (Social Movements and Democracy; Comparative Politics and Political Communication; Economic Sociology and International Political Economy). One position is for a chair gender equality, with a focus on the study of gender relations in the political, economic and social sphere, and of policies for gender equality in the spheres of social policy, employment policy and/or political participation and representation. This should include the capacity to supervise empirical doctoral projects in these areas. High-level competence in theoretical debates on feminism as well as on other dimensions of inequality is desirable. Candidates should be able to contribute to the Faculty’s main areas of research (Social Movements and Democracy; Comparative Politics and Political Communication; Economic Sociology and International Political Economy).
