Good morning, all,
I've had a request for an orchestral set of the overture to Orphée aux enfers, but it seems that Offenbach himself never composed a true overture, but that the best-known one is a compilation of themes from the opera by one Carl Binder. There appear to be lots of sets available, but the choice appears to be between editions by W H Myddleton and J G Busch. Does anyone know if these are themselves "arrangements" of Binder's arrangement, or whether they are entirely independent mash-ups of their own? (And any recommendations of one over the other?)
Many thanks,
David Fraser
