Dear all,
If you, or researchers you supervise, have expertise in bedded barite deposits, you are cordially invited to contribute an article to a Special Issue of the MDPI journal Minerals. The issue is entitled "Stratabound Barite Deposits: Mineralogy, Isotope Geochemistry and Geochronology". Further information at: www.mdpi.com/journal/minerals/special_issues/01417N4ZK7
The scope encompasses barite deposits ranging in age from Archaean to Recent, and in setting from sediment-hosted (siliclastic and carbonate) to volcanogenic. Of particular interest are contributions that discuss whether the bedded barite precipitated on the seafloor or formed by sub-seafloor diagenetic replacement processes.
The manuscript deadline is currently end-April 2024. If you would like to contribute an article or a review paper, please email your indicative abstract (~200 words) by end-February 2024 to me at [log in to unmask] Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss a possible contribution.
Thank you for your attention.
