Dear FSL,
We experienced some trouble setting up FSL on a windows machine.
The main issue was that XLaunch did not open a display/window when running the 'glxgears' test commands.
After some digging we found out that the issue was the following instruction at the FSLWiki
3. In order for VcXsrv to work, you will need to add these lines to your .bashrc file. Copy+paste the following lines into the Ubuntu shell:
echo "export DISPLAY=\$(grep nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | awk '{print \$2; exit}'):0" >> ~/.bashrc
This command potentially export the wrong IP adres if the machine has multiple network connections and/or machines connected.
When changing this to
export DISPLAY=$(route.exe print | grep 0.0.0.0 | head -1 | awk '{print $4}'):0.0
it resolved our issue and we were able to open fsl and fsleyes :-)
Future FSL users on windows machines might benefit from this info if shared on the wiki.
