The session will delve into the intersectionality of gender, migration
background, race/ethnicity, SES, and the welfare state in shaping cognitive
outcomes. We are particularly interested in studies that examine how social
and economic factors and institutional mechanisms influence cognitive health
in older adults. We encourage contributions that delve into the assessment
of cognitive functioning within the domains of cognitive/brain health and
medical sociology. We value submissions that not only apply rigorous
methodologies but also advance theoretical development and provide
innovative insights. Contributions integrating other relevant axes of
inequality such as disability, gender identity and sexuality, linguistic
diversity, nationality, religion, etc., are highly welcomed.
