CALL FOR PAPERS -  International Conference “One World, Many Crises: Politics, Law, and Beyond”

The Center for Research on Democracy and Law (University of Macedonia, Greece; https://kedid.uom.gr/en), the COST Action “Global Atrocity Justice Constellations” (CA18228; https://justice-360.com/), and the Institute of European Integration and Policy (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece; https://eeep-en.pspa.uoa.gr/) co-organize the international conference "One World, Many Crises: Politics, Law, and Beyond" in Athens (Greece) on 7-8 March 2024. 

The aim of the conference is to address: 
- the current global challenges, notably the crisis of democratic governance, disinformation, etc.; 
- the impact of an increasingly globalized world on legal and political governance, especially in terms of crises or adjudicating bodies (e.g., ICC or ICJ);     
- the past and possible future health issues, including crises and responses (e.g., the COVID-19 pandemic) as well as bioethical concerns (e.g., cultured food);     
- the environmental issues within the ongoing climate change debate, including impact on humans (e.g., sustainable growth, environmental protection);     
- the growing concerns over Artificial Intelligence and its impact on humans.

Paper or panel proposals are invited on the any of the above issues under a theoretical or applied/empirical perspective from the academic disciplines of political science, social science, law, medicine, philosophy, and history/anthropology (additional issues/disciplines may be considered) by 31 December 2023 through the online platform at https://kedid.uom.gr/en/activities/conferences/one-world-many-crises/, where you may also find additional information on the conference, details for panel or paper proposals, etc. The Call for Papers is also hereby attached. Authors/panel chairs will be notified of the outcome by 10 January 2024.
