The University of Bolton, School of Psychology , is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the BSc in Mental Health Wellbeing and Counselling. The successful candidate will externally examine the Mental Health modules within the new programme.
External examiners play a central role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. The duties will include the review of the students’ academic work and attendance at exam boards (may be face to face or virtual). The successful candidate will be required to review samples of student work on modules within the programmes, endorse marks to confirm that the marks are agreed, fully moderate and externally examine sets of results. You will also be required to submit annual reports; attend appropriate boards of examiners and consider any programme modifications.
The successful applicant will be responsible for reviewing modules that are to be delivered at Level HE4, HE5 and HE6. The post will commence from January 2024.
External examiner appointments are typically for a period of four years. Seeking applicants with relevant experience and knowledge of Mental Health and Wellbeing. However, support will be provided for those new to the role. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment and must have Right to Work in the UK.
