Anthropology of the Middle East CFP
“Middle East in Turmoil”
Volume 19, Issue 2 (Winter 2024)
Deadline for submitting articles: 15 February 2024
Anthropology of the Middle East has considered it necessary under circumstances that we are facing daily, to dedicate an issue to papers or essays which are considering events of 2023. We are sitting in our safe abodes, but we are watching, reading, rereading, discussing what is happening, which has its history, and will have its effects on the region’s life. As specialists of everyday life, we welcome articles which discuss any and all aspects of life in the area in view of the events from the 7th of October which as anthropologists we are experiencing. Articles could consider language, archaeology, cultural issues, politics, economics, social, media and naturally religious and war issues, not to mention human rights. So, we have to have a reflection of our Middle Eastern experience wherever we live, and those of anthropologists of the Middle East in face of these events, reflected in AME.
