Dear Colleagues,
New Open Access Paper: Towards a greater engagement of universities in addressing climate change challenges
As you are aware, climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of modern times. And one where universities
may play a key role, both in respect of teaching, research as part of their "third mission".
A team of researchers from the European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) https://esssr.eu, Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP) https://www.haw-hamburg.de/ftz-nk/programme/iusdrp.html and International Climate Change Information and Research Programme (ICCIRP) https://www.haw-hamburg.de/en/ftz-nk/programmes/iccirp/,has undertaken an investigation on the factors that may lead to a greater commitment of universities towards tackling climate change. The results of this work are presented in the article
"Towards a greater engagement of universities in addressing climate change challenges", which has just
been published as an open-access paper in the journal "Scientific Reports".
The article can be seen on-line here: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-023-45866-x and
