Dear colleagues,
I kindly request your help in disseminating a call for a researcher position at the University of Padua to potential candidates.
I am currently seeking to hire a researcher (pre or post-doc) for a 16-month position within the project "Socio-demographic determinants of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) use among older people in Italy" (ICTAGE).
Application Deadline: 1 p.m. on November 30, 2023.
This position is open to both candidates with a PhD and those holding a Master's degree.
Call and Submission Link: https://www.stat.unipd.it/bando-di-selezione-il-conferimento-di-n1-assegno-di-ricerca-prin-2022-prof-arpino
Salary: €20,500 per year (taxes for this type of position are minimal).
In the ICTAGE project, we investigate disparities in the use of ICT among older individuals. The appointed researcher will primarily focus on the influence of kin availability and family relationships on older adults' ICT usage, utilizing data from large-scale and well-established social science surveys.
I’m seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
· Strong statistical background, with desirable knowledge of causal inference and/or machine learning techniques
· Proficiency in analyzing complex data, including cross-national, longitudinal, and multilevel datasets
· Proficiency in the English language and advanced skills in statistical software such as R or STATA (knowledge of Italian is not required).
The selected researcher will be based at the University of Padua. Other participating institutions in the ICTAGE project include the University of Bologna and the University of Molise.
