Please join QUORUM, a series of theatre and performance research seminars hosted by the Department of Drama at Queen Mary University of London, for our first event of the term, this Wednesday, 11 October from 17:30 - 19:00 BST.
Come meet Quiplash, a queer disability led arts company that seeks to take space for deaf disabled and neurodivergent people across the LGBTQQIA+ spectrum. Quiplash trains and consults on disability activism and accessibility as well as making their own accessible art. In this session, Al and Amelia Lander-Cavallo will talk about how Quiplash began, what they are up to now and where the company is headed. They will also unpack what it means to run a company as queer disabled people supporting other queer disabled people, and how "joy as an act of resistance" is their favourite form of activism.
Find Quiplash at: Quiplash.co.uk, or QuiplashArts on Instagram.
This hybrid event takes place in person at Queen Mary University of London's Mile End campus in ArtsOne, RR2 and simultaneously online. If you want to join us online, please book a free ticket and we will send you a Zoom link closer to the date of the event. You are welcome to join us in ArtsOne from 17:30. The event kicks off promptly at 18:00 and wraps up around 19:00, when in-person attendees are cordially invited to join us for drinks and nibbles.
