Access & Acquisitions Manager: Metadata & Discovery
Salary: Grade 7 (£37,099 - £44,263 p.a. depending on experience)
Access & Acquisitions are an ambitious team with a wide-ranging portfolio of day-to-day work and projects. The Metadata & Discovery section work on anything from special collections cataloguing through to developing linked data skills and capabilities. We're looking for someone who is interested in metadata and discovery and the opportunities it affords, and someone who can provide leadership and oversight for the Metadata & Discovery Team. You will investigate and assess developments in standards and technologies and, alongside user experience feedback and statistical analysis, you will identify and create innovative approaches to enhance the discovery experience we offer to users. You will form and manage key internal and external relationships, working closely with colleagues across the Libraries, University and those based nationally and internationally. You will be a key point of contact for expertise in resource discovery and the development of services relating to inclusion and accessibility. You will be a strong team player and communicator, committed to the development of the team and the service, and you will be able to work independently and manage your own workload in line with changing priorities.
