Historic England and English Heritage are pleased to announce round four of the ‘Collaborative Doctoral Partnership’ programme. This is is a joint scheme administered by Historic England and English Heritage and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). We are now issuing a Call for Proposals for co-supervised PhD studentship projects to commence in October 2024, based on one of the Collaborative Doctoral Partnership Priority Research Areas:
1/Climate Change Disruption and Historic Landscape Environments
2/ Industrial Heritage: Thriving Communities, Positive Change
3/ Open Space: Enabling Inclusion
4/Playfulness and the Visitor Experience at Heritage Sites
5/Coatings Past, Present and Future (relating to coatings of metal objects in English Heritage collections)
6/The Cold War at Dover: Regional Seats of Government – Materiality and Connections

Proposals can only be submitted by a university-based researcher in collaboration with a named member of staff from Historic England or English Heritage, we are not looking for project ideas directly from potential students.
