The Energy and Environment Specialty Group (EESG) is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Energy Geography Conference, to be held virtually on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 from 11am-3pm ET. This half-day event will include paper presentations and keynote talks on research and practice related to energy geography. The theme of this year's conference will be advancing equitable decarbonization.

The conference will feature an opening keynote address delivered by Emily Yeh, Professor at University of Colorado, and a closing keynote address delivered by Gary Langham, Executive Director of the American Association of Geographers.

The EESG welcomes everyone from undergraduate students to late-career energy geographers (broadly defined). We intend for this conference to be a welcoming, inclusive, and friendly space to meet, engage, share ideas, collaborate, and build community. In light of the intended interactive nature of this conference, we kindly ask that participants engage throughout the workshop and submit their presentation or workshop materials in advance by the deadline.

We are asking for a nominal fee this year to raise funds for Awards which primarily support graduate students. 

Registration is $5 for EESG members and $10 for non-members. 

The registration deadline for presenters is Sunday, December 3rd, 2023. 

The registration deadline for attendance is Sunday, January 14th, 2024.
