Hello all,
I am e-mailing today to remind people of our ongoing CFP for contributions to a special issue of New Proposals commemorating the 50 year anniversary of Harry Braverman's Labor and Monopoly Capital and applying it to contemporary labour contexts. We've had strong interest so far, but have decided to extend the abstract deadline by a week: We will now accept abstracts until November 10, 2024. For more details and to access the CFP and submission portal, see the original announcement below.
Best,
Ben (for Steff and Enda)
Hello all and apologies for cross-posting,
Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Harry Braverman's groundbreaking book Labor and Monopoly Capital. To celebrate its continued influence, Enda Brophy, Steff Ling and I are editing a special collection of New Proposals: Journal of Marxism and Interdisciplinary Inquiry.
We welcome submissions interrogating Braverman's legacy and applicability to 21st century labour processes, particularly as these relate to questions of platformization, precarization, gendered and racialized divisions of labour, and digital Taylorism.
Short 300-500 word abstracts can be submitted up to November 10th. The issue is planned for an Autumn 2024 release.
To read the CFP, view the timeline and submit an abstract, please visit https://forms.gle/yCaEUd4A7D7NqwvcA
Informal inquiries can be directed to Benjamin Anderson ([log in to unmask])
Sincerely,
Benjamin Anderson (for Steff Ling and Enda Brophy)
