Call for Chapters: Health Cultures in the Global South

The Health Humanities Research Group at XJTLU, China is delighted to announce this call for chapters for an edited volume in the area of Health Humanities with an emphasis on health cultures in the Global South and/or indigenous medical practices. This volume is set to be published with a prestigious press, ensuring significant engagement within the academic community. This volume aims to be a seminal contribution in the area of Health Humanities, by taking an interdisciplinary approach to health and illness in the Global South context.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

•	The conceptualisation of medical remedies in a global and historical context
•	Ageing and care in a global context
•	Health and medical practices in indigenous and/or aboriginal contexts
•	Narratives of health and illness in the Global South
•	The intersection of culture, religion, health, and illness
•	The role of traditional approaches to health and medicine in contemporary health practices
•	Space and health

We invite both established and early career researchers for their contributions — we take an interdisciplinary approach to Health Humanities, and therefore encourage academics from diverse fields to submit an abstract.

Abstracts of 500 words should be submitted to [log in to unmask] by December the 11th, 2023.
