Finisterra - Revista Portuguesa de Geografia is pleased to invite you to participate in the event that brings together the 2023 Annual Lesson and the award ceremony for the Best Paper of the Year 2022. 
 
The session will take place TOMORROW, 2023, at 5:00 pm, at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon, in a hybrid format (presential and online). 
 
This year's Annual Lecture entitled "The Transport Geography of E-Commerce: Amazon's Distributional Hierarchy" will be attended by Jean-Paul Rodrigue. With a PhD in Transport Geography from the Université de Montréal (1994), Jean-Paul has been a professor and researcher at Hofstra University (New York) since 1999. His research area focuses on transport and the economy, with a special focus on intermodal transport and the global distribution of goods. He is among the 2% of most cited academics worldwide, with The Geography of Transport Systems  (2006) and Port Economics Management and Policy (2022) being his best-known works. In 2019, he was awarded the Edward L. Ullman Prize for his important scientific contribution to transport geography. In 2022, he was named a Distinguished Fellow at the Hagler for Advanced Study, Department of Maritime Business Administration, Texas A&M University.
