Along roads motion forms a scene*
The past surges towards me on the other side
all lights and sizzle
before breezing by my right ear
The future still holds some open lanes
The scene is constantly changing
but still-centred
Ahead now the back of a truck
Main Freight Long Load
absorbs and obliterates light
Death Cab for Cutie’s Transatlanticism
kicks in on the Greensborough bypass
You feel so much closer
the further away I get
